Who Needs a Fire Risk Assessment?
Fire Risk Assessments are vital in eliminating serious risks in any property or workplace. By law, all business premises and high rise apartments are required to conduct a fire risk assessment to keep people safe at work or at home.
528,601 fire-related incidents occurred in 2020. This number is lower than previous years, and this reduction is due to proper fire risk assessments and fire safety training in properties and workplaces. A thorough fire risk assessment also reduces damage to property, reducing costs for businesses and property owners.
How is a Fire Risk Assessment Carried Out?
- Identify the fire hazards.
- Identify people at risk.
- Evaluate, remove or reduce the risks.
- Record your findings, prepare an emergency plan.
Review and update the fire risk assessment regularly.

At SM Installations (NW) Ltd, we provide fire safety training for your staff on safety procedures and protocols.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, all staff must be provided with adequate fire safety training when they are first employed, when there is a new risk and refresher training should be provided on a periodic basis.
